Nearly A Dozen Deaths Attributed To NYC Heat Wave

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The New York City medical examiner says four more deaths are now officially blamed on the recent heat wave, bringing the total to 11.

The medical examiner said Friday that the latest victims were in Queens and Brooklyn.

Their deaths were caused by hyperthermia, with underlying conditions.

They included a 30-year-old woman, who died on July 22 in Queens.

A 36-year-old woman died on July 23 in Brooklyn.

A 64-year-old woman died on July 24 in Brooklyn.

And a 33-year-old man died on Aug. 1 in Brooklyn.

All of the previous victims were elderly, except for a 10-year-old Brooklyn girl.
