Suffolk County Police Search For Bank Robber

LAKE GROVE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork)Suffolk County police are investigating a robbery at the People’s United Bank in Lake Grove Saturday.

Police said a man entered the bank on 2921 Middle Country Road at 10:25 a.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money.

The teller surrendered cash to the robber, along with a red dye pack that burst as the man left the bank.

Police describe the robber as a 6’2″ clean-shaven white man between 20 and 30-years-old with a medium build. He was wearing a dark-blue Yankees cap, a gray hooded-sweatshirt, dark sunglasses and dark pants.

The robber fled west on Middle Country Road in a gray four-door sedan.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the bank robbery to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
