Police Search For Driver In Fatal Hit-And-Run On Long Island

LAKE GROVE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A hit-and-run crash killed an unidentified pedestrian in Lake Grove Sunday.

Suffolk County police said a man was standing in the turning lane on Middle Country Road at Hawkins Avenue at 1:40 a.m. when he was struck.

The victim, 49-year-old Brian Bianchi, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash or have information about the identity of the victim to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
