B&C Morning Show: Eli Manning Fancies Himself An Elite Signal Caller

Eli Manning thinks rather highly of himself, or at least his comments on a local radio show on Tuesday might lead one to believe that.

The youngest Manning brother was asked if he believes himself to be in the class of, say, Tom Brady -- who along with Peyton Manning is considered to be the best of the best -- and Eli said he most certainly does (paraphrasing).

Craig of course took issue with the Giants QB's high opinion of himself, saying he likes the confidence displayed by Eli, but questions the validity of the assessment. Craig pointed out that Eli led the league in interceptions last year and has failed to lead his team to the playoffs for the last two seasons.

With all of that said, Craig likes the cockiness displayed by Eli but just thinks it's unfounded and out of character.

Boomer had a tough time getting past Eli's resume, which includes a Super Bowl MVP by the way, and did his best to explain to Craig exactly how hard it is to win a Super Bowl.  He went on to say that Giants fans should be jubilant and these comments by Manning should be music to their ears.

Although he doesn't believe Eli to be in the upper-echelon of quarterbacks, Boomer says his comments are just indicating his awareness that he needs to improve after last year's 25 interception performance.

Boomer's assessment led to a discussion with Craig about comments being taken out of context.  Then we heard about Boomer doing something or other with all the Broadway guys and his love for wet cheese - yes, wet cheese...
