Christie Gives Bloomberg Earful Over 9/11 10th Anniversary Invite List

Report: N.J. Gov Fires Yiddish Expletive At NYC Mayor Over Snub Of PA Head

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) –– There’s a New York-New Jersey border war brewing.

Governor Chris Christie is howling about an attempt by Mayor Michael Bloomberg to elbow Garden Staters out of 9/11 10th anniversary ceremonies, reports CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer.

As a billionaire businessman and New York City ruler for nearly 10 years Mayor Bloomberg is certainly not used to getting a sharp elbow in the gut from somebody trying to undo one of his fiats.

Mayor Bloomberg, meet New Jersey Gov. Christie.

“What I am is determined, determined to stand up for New Jersey. That’s what I get paid for and that’s what I’m going to do whether it’s with Mayor Bloomberg or anybody else,” Christie said on Thursday.

Christie came to blows with the mayor over his refusal to invite former Gov. Donald DiFrancesco — the leader of New Jersey the day terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center — to next month’s ceremonies at ground zero. A New York City newspaper also reported that Christie called Bloomberg a dictator, Napoleon, and a “putz” (the Yiddish curse word that literally refers to a gentleman’s appendage).

“If we allowed New York to make every one of these decisions with just New York no one from New Jersey would be there,” Christie said.

With former Gov. George Pataki invited to participate, along with presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, and former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Bloomberg was forced to relent and ask DiFrancesco, who by the way has never been invited to past anniversary ceremonies — ever.

However, the mayor is refusing Christie’s demand that David Samson, the chairman of the Port Authority, also be asked.

“I’ve made it very clear to the mayor’s office — I don’t know whether I have to send his business card — but David Sampson is the chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He is the leader of the ground we will be standing on,” Christie said.

But having given in on DiFrancesco, the mayor was in no mood to rent on Samson, too.

“Gov. Christie has not called me and he’s not a shrinking violet. If he had something to say, I’m sure he’d pick up the phone. But you know, when it comes to 9/11, I don’t think the public is interested in some of these made-up stories about political squabbling that really take away from the solemnity – if that’s the right word — of the occasion,” Bloomberg said. “We’ve tried every year to keep the focus not on politics and politicians but on families.”

Governor Christie said the mayor needs a better argument than that, adding Samson is not a politician, but he does represent the Port Authority, which lost more than 80 people that day.

In addition, Christie said Samson was invited to participate in the ground zero wreath-laying with President Obama after Osama bin Laden was killed.

Of Course , Christie is right. Bloomberg is a tiny tiny human being who had the good fortune to have money with which he is able to buy the mayor-ship of NY. He is an idiot and has power so that is always a bad combination.

  2. bosunb1 says:

Bloomberg should stop acting like a dictator. Why didn’t he ask what the families of the victims if they wanted clergy?

  3. suibne says:

Bloomberg has chiseled his name on the wall of cowardice, along with Obama. Only a socialist little Ptz would have the arrogance to eliminate prayer from a memorial. Wait till ya see what’s waiting for this sht for brains bully.

re; Invitation to the 10 th Anniversary services, hopefully front and center will be the immediate surviving family members and those who served at ground zero that day; NY Fire Department, NY Policemen and Mayor Rudy Giulliani. Everyone else is irrelevant, simply witnesses to one of the most horrific acts of violence ever perpetrated on the United States. May all those who lost there lives rest in peace and may America never forget there are those who would do it again if given a chance.

Too bad half the posters can;t see the big picture here, and only want to focus on the name calling and their personal likes and dislikes. 9/11 was the day that the U.S. cahnged for good. There will never be a turning back, and we now all leave in fear daily because of it. What difference does it make who is on a list or not ?? Myself, I would not want to be seen with Bloomberg. I find the man annoying and revolting. His whiney nasal voice is like nails scratching a chalk board. Those who are not on the list should just show up. This is a day for all Americans, not those that King Bloomey deems worthy. And for the record, Bloomberg had nothing to do with anything in the days and months after 9/11. Rudy was dealing with that mess until he left office. Bloomey was handed a neat and tidey package with not much else to do since Rudy did it all. Andy Rudy could not get his term extended. Funny in a way, since he isn;t a Billionaire businessman like Bloomey. Amazing when there are enough zeroes in a check……….

    1. jbrutal says:

dont worry about “being seen” with Bloomberg. he could care less about hanging with a p1ssant like you

  10. john green says:

Donald Di………… was an unelected Gov. He was a corrupt sleazy pol,who used his position as an elected official to reward his cronies enrich himself. The only place he should be invited to is a courtroom.

  12. DanTe says:

Proof Bloomberg is Hitler in disguise:

Bloomberg and Hitler both unilaterally broke the law on term limits and extended their terms due to an “emergency”.

Bloomberg and Hitler both like to dictate what healthy activity or food the peons need to do or eat. Hitler was a vegetarian too.

Bloomberg and Hitler both have grand automobile/people mover plans. The Autoban and the massive lane changes in NYC.

Bloomberg and Hitler both hates it when civilians are allowed to own guns. Gee, I wonder why they both like a helpless citizenry.

Bloomberg and Hitler both use “emergencies” to increase their special police’s powers. NYC’s SS even perform overseas “investigations”, like NYC is a wholly separate little dictatoriate.

Bloomberg and Hitler both just love to control how our youths are “educated”. And children were encouraged to report the teachers if they said the wrong thing.

Bloomberg and Hitler people both wear monochrome colored shirts in a uniform manner. (While it’s true, this is placed here more so that the fascists can have something to respond to.)

I wonder what “emergency” will occur for Bloomberg to break the term limit on the Presidency?

    1. jbrutal says:

this is a paranoid guy with too much time on his hands
      – who is dumb enough to make up his own words like “dictatoriate”
      – can’t spell “Autobahn”
      – and doesn’t understand how to conjugate a verb for plural nouns – “Bloomberg and Hitler both hates it”
      – Bloomberg did not extend his term. he was re-elected by popular vote after the city council voted to change the Term Limit law.

Dan Te and Hitler both like to bend the truth to suit their own ideology. Hitler was apparently a lot smarter.

Isn’t the governor over the mayor and isn’t Commo the governor ? Why is it that Bloomers is always calling the shots ? Bloomers and Obummer make a good pair, they just do what ever they want too and to heck with anyone else.

  17. Louise says:

Gov Christie likes to be the loud mouth bully in the room. This country seems to respect this new form of leadership. I think it greatly devalues what we really are as a country. I think Christie is someone first and foremost loud and obnoxious. I also think his style will get very old if we wake up and realize we can win more bees with honey…If we don’t, I am very concerned about our future.

  18. DR. MENGLE,GOT TWINS? says:

please do not the bloated pig from new jazzy..he is a fat putz…my mayor mikey is nothing but a flaming ego-testicular twit..if the fat toad makes it too the white horse..they will have too widen the doors of perception…ah a carpenters holiday…puns and anal interludes are my best bullets.

  19. karen s says:

it is a shame that the first responders will be given a separate occasion for remembrance. as someone who was living & working in massachusetts on 9/11 and lost a number of friends on 9/11, and whose dad spent 34 yrs in nypd, i will be proud to stand with those heros on 9/11 and the “date & place to be named later.” for the past 3 years, i have stood with silent mourners along broadway. please mr. bloomberg, if “all we have to do is ask,” please reroute traffic on broadway during the observance on 9/11. it is disrespectful to stand and strain to hear the reading of the names over tour buses, taxis and other traffic. for 4 or 5 hours on 1 day, let the “canyon of heroes” echo with the names of heroes, and the families/friends who loved and mourn them have their time and space of remembrance. we don’t need the double decker buses and traffic exhaust fumes interfering with our memories. too many tears shed, too many angels in heaven.

  20. Dan Te says:

Gov. Christie sounds like a racist.

    1. @ Fake Dan Te says:

Now that is sad. You’re so positive that you’re a total loser that nobody will listen to that you have to constantly pretend to be a somebody. Have you tried suicide? I hear it solves all sorts of troubles for you folks.

      1. DanTe says:

Thanks @Fake DanTe. Some idiots are just too pathetic. They do make good comic relief. As if I would ever write such sniveling drivel.

  24. Zeb says:

So he called him a putz, big deal, 90% of the population knows the word but not the actual meeting and if it wasn’t Christie who said it then this wouldn’t be a story. Quit reaching for controversy dude (hair on an elephants butt)

  25. diver says:

Someone with a waist line like Christie’s should not be calling anyone names.

Like the Mayor said pick up the phone and resolve your issues like an adult.

  26. NYorkgirl says:

I agree with every name Gov. Christie called Bloomberg, except he should have called him a LITTLE PUTZ instead of just a putz.

    1. midi-man says:

You are only half right he is a little dictator, Napoleon, and a putz all in one package. Right on Christie .
