Cops Looking To Find Suspect Wanted In Robbery Of Elderly Bronx Man

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking for the public's help to locate a man suspected of robbing an elderly Bronx man.

Authorities said the incident happened on Aug. 12 in front of 1705 Hoe Ave. The suspect allegedly approached a 79-year-old man from behind and put him in a chokehold before getting away with property and cash.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition with minor injuries.

Surveillance video has been released in an effort to identify the suspect.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10 black male, between 18 and 24 and weighing 200-220 pounds. He was seen wearing a dark-colored t-shirt, blue jeans and a dark-colored baseball cap.
