Hugs All Around: Mets, Nick Cannon Go For Guinness World Record Tonight At Citi Field

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Come on, Mets fans. Let's hug it out.

On Friday at Citi Field, 92.3 NOW's Nick Cannon will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most hugs in one hour.

Cannon's goal is 1,800, though the current record stands at 1,749. The "Rollin with Nick Cannon Morning Show" host is confident the deed will get done.

"I am going to make HISTORY!" Cannon said on his official website.

With New York slipping out of postseason contention, the faithful in Flushing could use a little positivity.

All willing to hug Mariah Carey's hubby will receive a commemorative Nick Cannon Mets T-shirt. The first 100 huggers will get tickets to the game. Just meet up with Cannon at 4:30 p.m. on Mets Plaza next to the Mets Home Run Apple at Citi Field.

Paper Jamz from WowWee will donate one toy for every hug to benefit the children at the Mets Care Room at the New York Hospital of Queens.

Current hugs-in-one-hour record holder Nick Vujicic achieved the mark on Sept. 25, 2010 at Oregon's Deschutes County Expo Center.
