Westchester County is hosting the event on August 30. County Executive Rob Astorino says the park will first be open only to those with disabilities and then to the general public.

"It gives the general public an opportunity to see that the disabled can enjoy Playland park as well and for the disabled to be included in a day with everybody else and I think that's really the way they wanted to go."

The event will have free rides, entertainment and activities.

The day is being sponsored by Westchester County's Office for the Disabled and Parks Department.
