B&C Morning Show: Giant Problems, Typical August A.J.
Boomer and Craig were back for the first time since last Thursday, and plenty has gone down in the local sports scene since they were on the airwaves.
A.J. Burnett blew up on the mound over the weekend, and then appeared to blow up at his manager. But Yankees’ brass was quick to squash that. Brian Cashman said that A.J. is merely having his “typical terrible August,” but also added that he is not guaranteed a playoff start.
But the main topic of conversation at the top of the show was the New York football Giants — and their disastrous preseason. Yes, they squashed the Bears 41-13 on Monday night, but with the win came a major loss as CB Terrell Thomas tore his ACL and will miss the season.
Craig suggests Giants fans must have very reserved expectations for the upcoming season given all that’s gone down in the last month or so. Boomer tries to shine some light on the positives, such as the development of some of the defensive stars. But Craig isn’t quite sure what to make of the G-Men this year.
They also spend a few minutes talking about how good Plaxico Burress looked in green over the weekend. And hey, Boomer got a new neon sign for the Allstate Studio!
