Boomer and Craig kicked off Wednesday morning’s show talking some Yankees baseball, but none of it shed the Bronx Bombers in a positive light.
First, Craig couldn’t understand Nick Swisher’s decision to swing with a 2-0 count and the bases loaded with 2 outs in the 9th inning last night. Boomer didn’t seem to have any issue at all with it, stating that it was a hitter’s count.
But then they got to the real issue of the morning. The New York Post printed a photo by Charles Wenzelberg in yesterday’s George King article that appeared to depict A.J. Burnett extending his middle finger in the direction of Joe Girardi as he handed the ball to his manager while being taken out of a game earlier this season.
So maybe there is something to this notion that there is a rift between manager and player here after all? Boomer and Craig attack this story from all angles, as the Burnett “Fingergate” controversy dominated much of this morning’s conversation.
