Boomer and Craig were back for their last show of the week on Thursday, and the lead topic of conversation was, of all things, the Mets. And as Mets news tends to be, this bit of info was not at all positive.

The Mets placed David Wright on waivers recently and the Rockies – and possibly other teams – put a claim in on the star third baseman. Craig is already planning for both David and Jose Reyes to be outta here by the time next season rolls around, despite the fact that Wright does have another year left on his deal with significant money attached to it.

Boomer and Craig both agreed that this news, regardless of its meaning, has to tick off the Mets’ fan base. And with the whole Madoff mess following the team’s ownership around, one might think that this move is a sign of a potential financial crisis.

How low will the payroll be next year? Will Wright or Reyes still be Mets? Only time will tell. In the meantime, let the debate begin!
