Former Mets general manager Omar Minaya stopped by the Allstate Studio this morning – or as Craig called it, “the lion’s den” – to conduct his first long-form interview since being let go by the organization last year. And there was plenty of ground to cover.
We find out what Omar is up to these days now that he has a little bit more time on his hands to spend with his family. They also revisit his tenure with the Mets to find out if he has any regrets about his experience with the ballclub. Also, we get Omar’s take on the Mets’ decision to place David Wright on waivers.
Learn how close the Mets came to signing guys like Manny Ramirez and Alex Rodriguez, as well as how the Mets’ front office reacts to the moves the Yankees make.
And of course, it wouldn’t be the Boomer and Carton show if the guys didn’t play back some of the more infamous audio from Minaya’s time with the Mets in which he sounded…well…less than articulate. Our thanks to Omar for being a good sport about everything and giving us ample time this morning.
