Police Still Searching For Missing Jersey City Mom Randy 'Amanda' Lehrer

JERSEY CITY, NJ (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Jersey City are still looking for Randy "Amanda" Lehrer.

Lehrer, 32, is the mother of a 10-month-child. She was reported missing a week ago by her husband Steve Acuna after he said the they had an argument.

Wednesday night, dozens of people gathered in Jersey City to put up fliers, hoping to for leads.

Police say Acuna took three days to file a missing person's report and has not been cooperating with investigators.

"We have been delayed because of a lack of cooperation on his part," said Chief Tom Comey of the Jersey City Police Department. Acuna's behavior "has forced us to seek court orders, subpoenas and warrants to do our job," Comey added.

Donna Scocco works with Leherer at Tommy's Restaurant. CBS 2's Tony Aiello asked Scocco if she believes Lehrer would leave her baby behind. Her answer was succinct.

"Never in a million year. No way. Nope. No," Scocco said.

Neighbors say they often heard the couple fighting on their home on Charles Street.

"They would argue a lot and I remember actually seeing her last week, and she kicked him out, she told him don't ever come back I don't want to see you," said neighbor Janaya Henry.

Anyone with information about Amanda Lehrer is urged to call police at (201) 547-JAIL (5245).

Lehrer was last seen wearing a black Ed Hardy t-shirt. She has a tattoo on her right shoulder that reads "Laugh Now, Cry Later."
