Police: St. Albans Couple Fatally Shot In Their Sleep; Son Wounded

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Police say a husband and wife have been fatally shot in the head as they slept inside their home in Queens.

Police responded to the Grayson Street home in St. Albans just before 4 a.m. Friday after getting a report of a man shot.

1010 WINS’ Al Jones reports: Murders Shock St. Albans

Shane Jaggarnauth, 23, was found on the sidewalk outside his parent’s home with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder.

Inside the home, police found 64-year-old Sugrim Jaggarnauth and his 56-year-old wife, Rosie Jaggarnauth, with gunshot wounds to the head. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The son was rushed Jamaica Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Neighbors can’t make sense of the crime.

“They were hard-working people,” one man said. “Good, decent people.”

Neighbors told 1010 WINS’ Al Jones the Jaggarnauths lived in the home for over 20 years.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

For God sakes .. why are you saying they are his grand parents??, it stated they are his parents.! . also grand parents would have older than 64 & 57!.. if you are going to read… then read thoroughly.. looks to me like 2 spoiled brats that got everything in life… turned on their parents, not hard to figure out.

This world is overpopulated with idiots and a few are leaving comments here. Three people were shot, two brutally and one with a superficial wound. We don’t know what happened, we can only assume and voice our “thoughts”. When you have someone who brings race into it as well as ignorance, its bad. Crime has no color nor region…it happens everywhere and to everybody. Sadly, a family will be mourning a mother/father..grandparent..brother and sister. Have some decency.

The D.O.J use torture to help fabricate evidence.

The Department of Justice use torture to make suspects look unstable and therefor play into hands of jurors and conjured witnesses. Humiliation, drugging, sleep deprivation, stress positions, threats of physical violence, harassing relatives, etc… are commonly used.

Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not after you!

Actually, given their age difference, they’re probably his parents, not grandparents and I do agree that this looks fishy. If you kill two people in the head, you’re ruthless and thorough enough to kill the third and not leave any witnesses. In this case I do think (from the information given in the article) that it’s possible that the young man either shot them himself, or more probable, that he hired someone to kill them and shoot him in the shoulder to take the heat off of him. Similar to the recent shooting of a couple in NJ.

Omar, if you read the news you know this happens all the time…look at the couple in Jersey where the husband just got wounded while the wife got shot several times…not Rocket Science.

  8. yousandi says:

The son did it…he was just shot on the shoulder while his parents/grandparents shot in the head…self explanatory. Yes, I said his parents/grandparents because I believe that is what they are to him.

    1. Omar says:

OK so tell us more about the murder scene since it sounds like you were there.

There was a game of Jumanji. An argument ensued. Then blood was spilled.
