NYPD Ties Brooklyn Rape Suspect To 5th Attempted Sex Assault

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has added another incident to a pattern of sex crimes that have taken place in Brooklyn over the past year.

Authorities now believe the same suspect wanted in four previous attempted sexual assaults and one rape is the same man responsible for an incident last Friday.

According to police, on August 26, the suspect approached a 28-year-old woman within the confines of the 72 Precinct and grabbed her, touching her over and under her clothing and breast area.

When the suspect then attempted to bring the victim down to the ground, she began screaming, causing the suspect to flee the scene, according to the NYPD.

According to police, the same suspect is being sought in incidents -- including a rape on June 4 -- dating back to March 20.

A sketch of was released by authorities on Friday. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, between 25 and 30 years old, 5'7'' and 165 pounds.
