The show, being developed by two Gossip Girl producers, is based on the book by Candace Bushnell, written about Carrie Bradshaw's high school years.

In August, rumors of a prequel swirled as the UK's Daily Mail reported that Darren Star, the original creator of the Sex & The City series, was joining Sarah Jessica Parker to create the series' prequel version.

As of right now, however, Parker nor Star have any connection to the project.
