Jessica Joya was among the steady flow of job seekers at the Nassau County job fair on Tuesday in Hauppauge.

"I was working for a company that ended up downsizing, so that's how I ended up unemployed," she said. "So I started applying for things and things like that and it's a little difficult."

Construction worker Ron Revy doesn't like collecting an unemployment check, he just wants to work.

"I applied last night for a custodial position," he said. "Believe me, that's not me, but I'll take it if the money is somewhat reasonable."

Some who there already had jobs, but were looking for advancement opportunities. Most say they are hopeful and staying positive.

If you missed Tuesday's job fair, there is another one on October 24 at the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Davis Avenue in Garden City from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
