NEW YORK (WFAN) – It looks like A-Rod can finally put a lid on “Popcorn-Gate.”

The Yankees’ All-Star slugger and actress Cameron Diaz have “recently” called it quits, according to US Weekly.

The couple unknowingly shared an intimate moment with the world during Super Bowl XLV. The third baseman was on television — and booed loudly by the crowd in Dallas — when Diaz was shown on the big screen hand-feeding A-Rod from a tub of the airy snack.

Rodriguez reportedly “went ballistic” over the moment captured on film. Diaz later joked about it on the “Late Show” with David Letterman in June.

But in the end, it was their schedules that doomed the power couple.

“She’s very busy with her career,” a source told the magazine. “And he’s had injuries and wants to focus on his game. They’re dedicated professionals.”

The source added: “They’re still very friendly and like each other. … He has an enormous amount of respect for her.”
