NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – It’s time to say goodbye to the Housewives you love to hate.

Bravo has reportedly dealt pink slips to three members of the Real Housewives of New York City cast.

According to the Huffington Post, Jill Zarin, Alex McCord and Kelly Bensimon have been politely asked by Bravo to not show up to filming of the popular series next year. It looks like their lavish lifestyles and outrageous behavior just aren’t living up to primetime standards.

Countess/singer LuAnn de Lesseps let it slip yesterday that three new members of New York City nobility will be added to the cast.  Lesseps and Ramona Singer will be the only original cast members remaining on the show.

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly is hinting that Bravo is keeping some eggs in its basket, telling the recently fired ladies that if the new women don’t work out they may be reinstated.

Housewives fans, is this a devastating blow or about time?  You chime in.

Bravo gave the reason for the terminations for the three cast members as that the spouses of the three cast members refuse to commit suicide, [thus matching a cast member for the Hollywood cast] so the network felt the upcoming season would therefore not be as interesting, and attract a wider viewership and ratings.
