Al Leiter took some time out of his busy morning to call in and chat about the sport he once played professionally: baseball.
To be more specific, on the heels of the Yankees clinching the AL East last night in the Bronx, Leiter was poised to talk a little Bombers baseball and considering he is an analyst for both the YES Network and the MLB Network, the topic made perfect sense.
The trio discussed Joe Girardi’s candidacy for AL Manager of the Year, an award Craig thinks the Yankees skipper has more than earned this season. Leiter seemed to agree.
After that, to Craig’s dismay, Leiter sang the praises of Jorge Posada and the reserve role he has embraced (reluctantly, according to Craig) since being demoted to the bench.
With the knowledge of how successful the left-hander has been financially, Craig offered him a chance to get in on the island he and Boomer are planning on buying and he seemed genuinely interested in the investment opportunity. I have two words for Mr. Leiter: Buyer beware…
