Barbara Sheehan’s grown children have the given the jury a grim picture of what life was like with their police sergeant father, Raymond.
While cross-examining 25-year-old Jennifer, the prosecutor asked her how many incidents of violence she could recall.
“Millions,” said the daughter. “It happened every day.”
She described her raging father throwing food onto the ceiling and the floor when he didn’t like what his wife had cooked.
She talked about her 21st birthday party that she said ended with her explosive father telling her she’d have to move out of the house. He then ran outside and started throwing rocks at the house, according to the testimony.
“It was very threatening,” she said.
Barbara Sheehan has admitted killing her husband in their Howard Beach home in 2008 and claims she was the victim of years of abuse at the hands of her husband.
In court Monday, wringing her hands and at times crying, Sheehan nervously testified that her husband would call her “stupid, fat and a terrible mother” and would choke her, knock her down, step on her and spit in her face.
On Tuesday, a sexual fetish called infantilism was at issue when she was cross-examined. On Wednesday, Sheehan broke down on the stand and complained of chest pains.
