B&C Morning Show: Jerry's Challenging Update

In addition to preparing informative and entertaining updates for the show, Jerry Recco is saddled with the daunting task  of trying to deliver said update with limited interruptions.

Normally, Craig is the thorn in Jerry's side with his constant commentary and editorializing, but today his nemesis was big and blonde, because Boomer was in rare form.

Jerry began things with a subdued John Sterling call of Russell Martin's ground ball triple play last night in the 6th inning of the Yankees' 5-3 loss to the Rays. Then he got everyone up to speed on both the AL and NL wild card races, which are as tight as can be heading into the regular season finale.

Jerry made it about 12 seconds, though, before we got an example of the Booms' mindset as he rattled off some famous and infamous game-winning, solo home runs in MLB history.

Eventually we heard from battling AL managers, Joe Maddon and Terry Francona, and how they're dealing with the stress.  Francona has been taking long walks and Craig wonders what he may have been in search of.

From there we heard from Jose Reyes on his uncertain future with the Mets and his quest to capture the NL batting title.  Some interesting audio from last night's Mets game, where radio play-by-play man Howie Rose can be heard broadcasting to an audience of one.  All of that and some would could be positive news from the Bernie Madoff/Irving Picard mess the Wilpons have been mixed up in.

Jerry eventually started wrapping things up when Boomer asked him if he would like to suck some menthol.  A kind gesture indeed, but Jerry respectfully declined the offer...
