Before hearing from Boomer & Craig following an eventful weekend in New York sports, we listened to a package courtesy of ‘the’ Eddie Scozzare, highlighting Craig’s predictions regarding the Giants and Jets from Friday that did not come to fruition.
Far from it, in fact…
After that we heard from Boomer & Craig themselves, as Booms took issue with Eddie’s choice to make the open revolve around Craig’s predictions gone awry, rather than his proper prognostication. Either way you cut it, with the Giants’ comeback win in the dessert, the Jets’ sloppy loss to the Ravens and the Yankees’ ALDS with the Tigers tied 1-1 heading to the MotorCity, there was plenty for the guys to talk about.
After boldly predicting that the Cardinals would beat the Giants outright on Friday, Craig was forced to take his medicine this morning and praise he Big Blue, specifically their signal caller Eli Manning, who Craigie said played like an elite quarterback yesterday afternoon in Arizona.
As for the Jets, Rex’s bunch went to Baltimore to play in prime-time and ended up getting exposed to the tune of 34-17. Mark Sanchez played a forgettable game and after their second straight debacle, the Jets dropped to 2-2 and Boomer & Craig agree their are some major problems with Gang Green.
The Yankees played some baseball since the last time the boys were on the air, after MLB embarrassed themselves by attempting to play Game 1 in the Bronx Friday night. The Yankees resumed the game Saturday night and managed a 9-3 victory behind a solid ‘relief’ appearance by rookie Ivan Nova.
Yesterday afternoon the Bombers fell to the Tigers 5-3 and will face Justin Verlander tonight in Detroit with CC Sabathia on the hill. Needless to say there is a lot riding on tonight’s game – aside from this being the playoffs and every game seems to count a little bit more – the Yankees are counting on much-maligned A.J. Burnett in Game 4, which is not an envious position to be in.
So a mixed bag this morning as the Giants and their fans have every reason to gloat, while fans of the Jets and the Yankees have real reason for concern…
