NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Hey Big Apple: Disappointed with Apple?
While many New Yorkers were anticipating the reveal of the iPhone 5, Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook has instead unveiled the company’s new iPhone 4S.

It is said to run seven times faster than its predecessor and has new mobile software that can sync content wirelessly, without having to plug an iPhone to a Mac or Windows machine.
The iPhone has gained millions of fans since the first model came out in 2007, thanks to its slick looks, high-resolution screen and intuitive software.
Apple has improved its camera function which can lock auto-focus on a single point in the frame, reduce red-eye and auto-enhance photos. The camera app will now also be accessible from the lock screen.
A new app called Cards lets you create cards on your phone or iPod Touch and then have them printed out and mailed to you by Apple. It will cost $2.99 to mail in the United States and $4.99 for the rest of the world.
This was the first major product event in years that Steve Jobs did not preside over.
Jobs, who has been battling health problems, resigned from the CEO post in August and is now executive chairman. Cook has been in charge of day-to-day operations for years, but isn’t as recognizable as Jobs.
When Apple released the iPad2 in March, hundreds of New Yorkers waited in line outside the Apple store on 5th Avenue to get their hands on one.
