Craig has been known to be very ‘touchy-feely.’ So it came as no surprise when he expressed a desire to wrap his arms around David Ortiz and give him a big bear-hug to welcome him to New York.

Jerry Recco was on hand when Craig made the declaration and he informed him that it is not likely that he could get his arms around Big Papi — after all, he is a big man.

After ruining Craig’s fantasy of embracing Papi, Jerry began his first update of the morning by getting us all up to speed on the latest drama coming out of Jets camp.  We heard Plaxico Burress reference his own production being down in relation to the trade of Derrick Mason.

Rex Ryan talked about a private conversation that he had with Mason, which directly contradicted what the outspoken head coach has been preaching the last three days or so.

Tom Coughlin talked about his Giants team moving forward after Sunday’s disappointing home loss to the Seattle Seahawks.  Coughlin also referenced positive energy, which reminded Craig that he has a tarot card reading in his near future.

Craig is hoping David Ortiz’s future puts him in a Yankees uniform, as we heard Big Papi talk about the drama is Boston and the prospect of joining the ‘Evil Empire.’

The Rangers took a 3-1 ALCS lead over the Tigers with a 7-3 extra-inning win in Detroit and the Cardinals put-up a 4 spot in in the 1st inning against the Brewers, went on to win 4-3 and gained a 2-1 advantage in the NLCS over the Brew Crew.  Both series’ resume today.

As for the NBA lockout, we heard from Billy Hunter – the Executive Director of the National Basketball Players Association – as he joined Mike Francesa yesterday and talked about a meeting with a federal mediator on Monday…
