Police Seek Purse Snatching Suspect Targeting Older Women In East Harlem

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are asking for help in trying to find a suspect wanted in connection with two robberies in East Harlem.

The first incident took place on Oct. 2 around 2:10 p.m. near 325 East 106th St. An 80-year-old female victim was approached from behind while she was walking and was knocked to the group before have her purse taken.

In the second incident, which took place at 1 p.m. Thursday near 309 East 108th St., a 72-year-old woman was also knocked to the ground before the suspect snatched her purse.

Both victims suffered minor injuries in the robberies.

The suspect is described as black male, between 20 and 25 years old and about 5-foot-9. Police have also released a video of the suspect in hopes that someone will recognize him.
