Suspect Sought In Fatal Stabbing Of Far Rockaway Woman

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for the suspect in a stabbing incident that left one woman dead and two teenage girls injured in Queens early Thursday morning.

Elizabeth Harris, 48, was pronounced dead at Peninsula Hospital after police said she was stabbed in the abdomen inside her apartment on Beach 96th Street in Far Rockaway around 4 a.m.

Late Thursday night, the NYPD identified 53-year-old Charlie Mitchell as a suspect in the stabbing.  He is described as being 5'8'' and 210 pounds.  Authorities also released a photo of Mitchell and are asking for the public's help in tracking him down.

Police said a 16-year-old girl sustained trauma wounds to the body and a 15-year-old girl sustained a laceration to the left arm and head. Both were treated at the hospital and released.
