Friday Morning Commute Miserable After Accident Shuts Part Of George Washington Bridge
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Commuters trying to make their way into Manhattan from New Jersey this morning confronted a terrible backup at the George Washington Bridge following a tractor trailer accident.
The accident shut the upper level on the Manhattan-bound side of the bridge, and part of the lower level as well.
Delays were said to be up to be 90 minutes. Commuters were urged to seek alternative routes.
The accident occurred shortly before 6 a.m.
The bridge reopened at around 8 a.m., but lingering delays continued to make the commute difficult.
