Police said they stopped 29-year-old Christopher Weiss, of Nesconset, at 12:35 p.m. on Friday after receiving a call about a car driving without one of its front tires.

When police found the 2002 black Ford Focus hatchback traveling eastbound on Route 25 in Huntington, they determined Weiss was intoxicated and also discovered Weiss's 2-year-old son in the back seat, according to the police.

Weiss's charge of DWI with a child counts as a felony under Leandra's Law. He also faces one charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

The unharmed boy was released to a family member.
