'NYC Channel' Comes To City Taxis; Option Survey Solicits Passenger Feedback

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- While it's not exactly in-flight entertainment, all New York City taxi televisions will now feature the brand-new "NYC Channel."

The city says the programming on the channel will serve as a video guide to the Big Apple for tourists and New Yorkers alike, 1010 WINS' Terry Sheridan reported.

"The information on the channel and the programming you will see will be PSAs about city services, information about how to find a job, information about arts and culture," said Katherine Oliver, the Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment.

Not only will the new channel try bring useful information to taxi riders, but an optional survey will also be available to provide feedback about your cab experience.

"Every business in 2011 wants to understand its customers as well as they can to provide better service," TLC Commissioner David Yassky said.

Yassky said that the survey will ask questions like 'how long did you wait for this taxi' in order to better understand NYC taxi customers.

So how would you rate your overall NYC taxi experience?  Share your thoughts in the comments section...
