Ex-Husband Of Woman Gunned Down In Brighton Beach Arrested, Charged With Murder

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police in Brooklyn have made an arrest in the murder of a woman who was gunned down in broad daylight.

Alla Kamenev was shot several times in Brighton Beach just before noon last Thursday.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect taken moments before the murder. He was riding a girl’s bicycle with a red basket.

Tuesday night, the NYPD announced the arrest of the victim’s ex-husband, 76-year-old Dimitry Kamenev.

The victim and her boyfriend Vlad Godin were supposed to go on vacation to Greece on the day she was killed.

“We have possibility to spend good retirement,” Godin said. “Everything’s finished.”

Dimitry Kamenev has been charged with murder and criminal use of a firearm.

And, NO., I don’t think that the reporter was helping the Police give the obvious suspect a sense of ease.
