Cameras, laptops, even a harmonica have been stolen after Southampton police said at least 40 vehicles were broken into over the past few weeks.
Most of the thefts happened in the overnight hours and most of the vehicles were parked in the owners' driveways.
In two cases, convertible tops were cut open to gain entry. In other cases, passenger side windows were smashed.
Detectives say always keep your car doors locked, even if you're running into a store for just a minute.
