ALBANY, N.J. (AP) - The Albany Devils have signed former NHL right wing Steve Bernier to an AHL contract.

General manager Chris Lamoriello announced the signing on Thursday without disclosing details.

Bernier spent last season with the Florida Panthers, collecting five goals and 10 assists in 68 games. The Quebec City native was acquired in June 2010 in a trade with Vancouver. Bernier has had four different stops in the NHL, playing for San Jose (2005-08), Buffalo (2008), Vancouver (2008-10) and Florida. He has 76 goals and 83 assists in 385 career games.

Bernier was in New Jersey’s training camp last month.
