Expert: Elmo, Mickey, T-Pain Mic Are Must-Have Toys Of The Season

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- With talk of snow in the forecast, can the holiday shopping season be far off?

December will be here before you know it and the must-have toy list for kids is already here.

1010 WINS' John Montone stopped by the Toys "R" Us in Times Square for some gameplay.

Toy expert Bob Friedland says if your kid wants to be a rap star then the I Am T-Pain Mic is a must.

"You can actually use this microphone to give yourself the perfect microphone voice," he said.

Want some helium-filled fish flying around your living? Of course you do.

The Air Swimmers eXtreme are radio-controlled flying fish.

"The fins in the back actually move around just like real fish, so you're actually steering this fish, just like a fish would swim through the water, but in the air," Friedland said.

Old favorite Mickey Mouse is back and rockin'.

Rock Star Mickey sports some cool shades and signature stage T-shirt and plays the rock classic "You Really Got Me."

You can set up your own battle of the bands by putting Mickey up against Let's Rock Elmo.

"He actually comes with drums, a tambourine and a microphone," Friedland said. "Elmo actually recognizes which instruments you put in his hands."

And if they get on your nerves you could always pop them with the latest Nerf blaster.

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is a cross-platform video game that lets kids bring their toys to life with the "Portal of Power." It's available for WII, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

And if none of this excites you there's always the Doggie Doo – a plastic dog that excretes modeling clay. It comes with its own poop scoop to teach your child responsibility.
