Sources: Dad In Cross River Massacre Left Notes Behind

CROSS RIVER, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Sam Friedlander, the Westchester lawyer who police say killed his family and himself, apparently left behind several notes.

CBS 2 has learned Friedlander left several letters, but none explained his actions.

Police in Cross River said Friedlander beat his wife Amy to death with a piece of furniture before shooting and killing their two young children, Gregory and Molly.

Sources say the notes gave instructions on how to wrap up some of his business and financial affairs.

One was mailed to a relative and others were left at the family's home in Cross River.
