TSA Agent Who Left Racy Note In Blogger’s Luggage To Be Fired

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Memo to TSA Agents: Freak not with passengers’ luggage.

The Transportation Security Administration worker at Newark Liberty International Airport who left a note in blogger Jill Filipovic’s luggage will be fired, spokeswoman Kawika Riley told the Associated Press.

Filipovic flew from Newark to Dublin over the weekend. When she opened her luggage, she found a personalized note on an official TSA form.

The note read “GET YOUR FREAK ON GIRL.”

Filipovic had packed a small vibrator in her suitcase.

Previously the TSA announced it was removing the worker from screening operations. Now the agency says it has apologized to Filipovic and is sacking the worker.

Filipovic, who Tweeted a photo of the note, says she felt the note was a “Total violation of privacy, wildly inappropriate and clearly not ok, but I also just died laughing in my hotel room.”

What do you make of the decision to fire the worker? Sound off in our comments section.

Make up your mind, Jill Filipovic. It was a violation of privacy, inappropriate and clearly not ok, BUT… I died laughing. She wants to have it both ways.

  2. SKS says:

The worker should be fired if true. It also sends a message to other workers not to do the same or face being fired.

  3. Michael Gameshowhost Parsnip Tuffli says:

The agent should have been fired for not having included a comma after “on”.

/this comment is slightly-less dumb than the featured comment

The TSA agent was right to be fired.
Yes I am happy agent was fired.

What if the note was ‘hey baldy’ if there were men’s wigs and rogaine
What if the note was ‘don’t loose your foot’ for someone with diabetic equipment
What if the note was ‘that time of the month again?’ for maxi pads
What if the note was ‘growing them in?’ for training bra
there’s not difference, over the line and unprofessional behavior.

  6. Jay Landry says:

She just wanted hits and ad revenue. She didnt care who she hurt and she obviously wasnt that offended or shy, since she had her travel vibrator with her.

  7. Kimberly Heydens says:

If she was so offened by the coment, only her and the TSA worker knew about it….then to tweet about it…someone wanted attention. Dont get me wrong the TSA worker was wrong for doing that however the freak girl made it worse. Your a blogger you know how things travel on the internet…….you mad it worse for yourself and the TSA worker

  8. Rugbyball says:

This is the proper response from TSA on this offense.
