Antrel Rolle On WFAN: 'I Had A Talk' With Brandon Jacobs

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- New York's great escape against Miami. The Brandon Jacobs saga.

Has there ever been so much negativity following a Giants win?

As far as the winless Dolphins go, Antrel Rolle says they're not as easy as their record might indicate.

"We were expecting a battle," the Giants safety told WFAN's Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Wednesday. "I think they're a pretty decent football team and most of all, you know, they play extremely hard."

Still one of the biggest issues surrounding Big Blue is their struggling run defense. The Giants gave up 145 total yards on the ground to Miami, 103 of those going to Reggie Bush on just 15 carries.

According to Rolle, the Giants have been just "a little undisciplined."

"We came together (Tuesday)," he said. "I think this week is definitely gonna be a better outcome. I think we have a full understanding of what needs to be done and how we have to be accountable for our own actions and our own job responsibilities. And most of all, how we have to trust that the person beside us is going to be on the same page."

What about Jacobs' controversial comments to Men's Fitness -- and the lashing he received from fans at MetLife Stadium this weekend?

"You know, I have no comments on that," said Rolle. "I had a talk with Brandon Jacobs. I'm going to keep that in confidence. And I think we're definitely going to see a better Brandon Jacobs this upcoming Sunday.

"Without a doubt."

Rolle wouldn't go into specifics about the sit-down, but he did paraphrase part of his message to the unhappy running back.

"You're a guy on this football field, you're a leader," Rolle said, adding that the meeting with his friend and teammate went well. "You're someone we look forward to, you know, whether it's being a vocal leader or (if) you lead by example. You know, basically, let's go out here and let's get it done."

Getting it done will be a tall task with a brutal five-week stretch ahead.

It starts against Bill Belichick's New England Patriots this Sunday -- but Rolle isn't about to feel intimidated.

"Yeah we have some very, very tough opponents coming up," he said. "But at the same time, the way I look at it ... they have to face the Giants."
