Overweight and suffering from sleep apnea, New York restaurateur and "Master Chef" judge Joe Bastianich began running about five years ago.
He completed his first Iron Man Triathlon last month.
"I enjoy it. I find the long training to be very, it's kind of my meditation," he said.
And Bastianich enjoys eating.
"Not as a reward or a celebration, but to look at food as fuel for my training ambitions. That really changed everything," he told WCBS 880 reporter Marla Diamond.
This Sunday's run will be his fourth New York City Marathon and his post-marathon meal will make your mouth water.
"Beer and clams oreganata, eggplant involtini, baked shrimp with spicy tomato sauce," he said.
Then it's back to training for his next run.
