Jury Deliberating In East Village Parking-Punch Trial

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Jurors continue to deliberate in the trial of the man accused of punching a woman in a dispute over an East Village parking spot.

Victim Lana Rosas ended up brain-damaged after falling to the ground.

Deliberations began Friday in Oscar Fuller’s assault case.

Fuller and Rosas faced off in February over a parking space she was trying to save for her boyfriend.

Prosecutors say Fuller hit the woman in the face out of anger. She fell, hit her head and was in a coma for about a week. The 25-year-old still wears a helmet because of her injuries.

Fuller says he hit her after she struck first. His lawyer says prosecutors haven’t proven the 35-year-old electrician intended to cause a serious injury, as the assault charge requires.

What’s odd is there is no public video footage of the incident. I think that the video that is available boosters Oscar Fullers claims therefore the guilty hungry prosecution did not include it as evidence in their case. This way the “men should never hit women” fanatics and the bogus over sensationalizing media won’t have to eat crow.

Well don’t expect much from a black man or an animal. Scared of a 4 feet 11 inches tall woman? Wow very brave. I’am surprise he didn’t call his backup Tyrome or Derrick.

Well this is a case of right and wrong. Both parties are wrong. Lana Rosas can not legally hold a parking spot, no matter who it is for. Just like it is illegal to feed a parking meter. Oscar Fuller is also wrong based on assault charges, why would you hit someone over a parking spot curse them out or something instead. He is probably a wife beater, if he is married at all.
Bottom line Fuller has a right to the parking spot in question since he was in his vehicle at the time. But wrong in the fact he hit Rosas.
Don’t these people work? Why are you moving cars in the middle of the day. Did you sneak out of work just to move your vehicle? Did you drive to work? Take mass transit. damn people

I thought the incident happened in the evening but either way not everyone works 9-5 and some people get off days that are not weekends. Your logic with these questions is non-existant and absolutely irrelevant.
