NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police in Manhattan have arrested six suspects in a multi-million dollar counterfeiting ring.

Investigators say counterfeit Tory Burch and Michael Kors handbags were among thousands of fake purses and wallets recovered from La La Fashion in the Fashion District on Wednesday.

Police say the fake merchandise was shipped from China and was being offered for sale online.

Arrested were 48-year-old Jeff Xia, 62-year-old Gou Yin Ye, 29-year-old Xhi Feng Chen, 37-year-old Cheng W. Wang, 27-year-old Bin Bin Jin and 40-year-old Yan Qun Hu.

All have been charged with first degree trademark counterfeiting.

The items have an estimated street value of $3.5 million.
