Nintendo Brings Free Food & Fun To Times Square For Super Mario’s 3D World Launch Saturday

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) –  With life size warp pipes, trampoline coin jumps and a flagpole finale, New Yorkers can step into a Nintendo game Saturday as the Super Mario 3D Land launch event comes to Times Square.

The adventure will begin at 10 a.m. at Military Island in Times Square.

In addition to being able to play Super Mario 3D Land the day before its release, a “Mushroom Kingdom” pizza truck will be nearby offering free mushroom pizza slices to the first 1,000 customers who tweet using #SuperMario3D.

Free and open to the public, attendees can expect to see Nintendo characters perform and participate in activities throughout the day as well as visit a multi-sensory environment constructed to depict Mario’s World. The biggest Nintendo fans have a chance to purchase the game a day before its official release at the Toys “R” Us located right in Times Square.

Hundreds of Marios, Tanooki Tails and other characters will be on hand and giveaways will be issued throughout the day. Fans can grab a pair of Tanooki ears and tails to wear as Mario does in the game while watching the Super Mario 3D Land game on the Jumbotron in Times Square.
