Reminiscent of Shepard Fairey’s artwork. Remember Shepard? He’s the guy who gave us the Hope poster for Obama. If you doubt me, check out http://www.obeygiant.com. Interestingly Shepard graduated from the Rhode Island School of design’s advertising program.

If you think it looks like communist propaganda, you’re only partly right. It’s more reminiscent of the Tienanmen Square protests– AGAINST China’s Communist Government.

I’m no OWS cheerleader, but let’s not insult history by claiming we are students of it.

I think you missed my point… They are using imagery and design that is straight from tyrannical governments of the past. The Tiennamen Square comparison is laughable, because the OWS folks would have been the ones in the tanks! Who do you think the OWS people follow? Not the Founding Fatherss. Not Abraham Lincoln. These AREN’T the leaders they admire. They quote Mao, Marx and Stalin. They are the left wing followers of socialism and communism. Not my opinion… they have said so themselves!! I have heard horrific anti-Semetic statements and seen anti-Semetic posters from these OWS people. You start to add up all these things and if you know and understand history, you would be concerned about these people too…

What I would like to know is where did they get the money for such a poster. I’m sure it didn’t come from the democratic party. No! Couldn’t have been from them. Thank our president the campaigner and agitator in chief for this group of hoodlums, drug addicts, and 60’2 hippie retreads.

    • Amtracmarine

Some of the money comes from a magizine called Adbusters.

Also, you would be surprised that it takes one person, one computer and one program to make this…

  • Andrew

Frankly, as a student of history, this type of propaganda poster scares the hell out of me. The imagery in this poster is EXACTLY the type used in communist Russia and in Nazi Germany. I’m not the type that casually throws around that comparison, but it is what it is. These OWS people are dangerous and need to be very closely watched. They are the biggest threat to freedom and liberty we have faced in this country in a long, long time.

  • Colford Bennet

Communist — no doubt about it! Another reason to boot these morons out of the city. The colleges and universities they graduated from ought to be embarrassed for producing such anti-social behavior in them — or maybe they profited by doing so????

  • Dave Raffl

communist agit-prop art at its finest, this poster looks exactly like the old commie are for a reason

  • Norwegianbear

The poster says: Resist Austerity, Reclaim the Economy, Recreate our Democracy. What are they proposing. Keep spending money we don’t have? A march of Dimes collection for industry so they can start hiring? What they call democracy, has nothing to do with democracy at all. What they call freedom has nothing to do with freedom at all. A free man fends for himself in an orderly society governed by laws. These people would rather be cared for by the government (i.e. the rest of us working stiffs) so they can endulge in their leisurely activities of philosophical discussion, coffee drinking and sit down protests. Send them home to the parents who spoiled them.
