Hundreds Camped Out To Be First In Line To Buy Versace At H&M

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Hundreds of shoppers camped out for a chance to get their hands on Donatella Versace's new line of affordable clothing at H&M.

Fashion-lovers braved cold temperatures for the chance to be first in the line for Versace's debut.

"Anything for Versace," said one shopper.

"I've been waiting for 10 hours," said another shopper.

One shopper said he was even paid $25 an hour to stand out in the cold and shop for a woman who couldn't make it herself.

Doors opened at 8 a.m. Saturday but H&M made sure it wouldn't be a total frenzy. The first 280 shoppers in line wanting to shop the women's collection were given one of 14 different colored bracelets that corresponded to a time when they would be allowed in the store.

Once they were allowed in, shoppers only had 15 minutes to shop in the Versace section and were limited to only two pieces of clothing per product in effort to make sure there was enough Versace to go around.

Customers for the men's collection were not given bracelets and did not have a time limit.
