Autopsy Set For Remains Found On Roadside In Yonkers

YONKERS, NY (CBSNewYork) — An autopsy will be performed this morning on what are believed to be human remains that were found on a Yonkers roadside.

Workers clearing brush near southbound I-87 and Sprain Road found a suitcase on Monday. They said it was giving off a foul odor and called police.

Detectives arrived a short time later, opened the suitcase and found decaying remains.

Investigators have been sweeping the wooded, desolate area with K-9 and cadaver dogs.
