Ex-Jail Guard Kim Wolfe Gets 22 Years In L.I. Shooting Spree

MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — A former New York jail guard who admitted killing her ex-girlfriend and uncle during a June 2010 shooting spree has been sentenced to 22 years to life in prison.

Kim Wolfe pleaded guilty to murder and other charges. She was sentenced Tuesday.

Wolfe’s former girlfriend, 45-year-old nurse’s aide Stacie Williams, was gunned down outside the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. The pair had met to discuss a possible reconciliation.

The corrections officer then went to a relative’s home about three miles away in Hempstead. There, she killed her uncle, wounded her 88-year-old grandfather and took a 23-year-old niece hostage following a dispute over life insurance policies.

The judge called Wolfe’s actions cowardly and callous.

Patricia Bynes, Williams’ sister, said Wolfe got away with murder.

“It’s not that much justice for my family,” Bynes said. “Twenty-two years on paper is not justice for me. I will be contacting the parole board.”

Bynes rejected the judge’s claims that had the case gone to trial there was a chance to jury could’ve found her innocent by reason of insanity and sent her to a hospital.

“Kim is not crazy, she’s never been crazy,” Bynes said. “What happens is she made statements before that if she couldn’t have her nobody could have her.”

Wolfe, who worked 19 years in the Nassau County jail, later surrendered. Her niece was unharmed.

Wolfe will be eligible for parole in 2032 when she is 65-years-old.

Wolfe will be eligible for parole in 2032 when she is 65-years-old. Just in time for social security to kick in and any money she’s do from her pension plan. Unless of course the state revokes it.
