Antrel Rolle On WFAN: Giants Will 'Absolutely' Make Playoffs

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- The Giants are one loss closer to yet another second-half collapse under coach Tom Coughlin.

Drew Brees and the Saints dismantled Big Blue to the tune of 49-24 on Monday night. Brees was relentless, passing for 363 yards and four touchdowns -- not to mention one rushing score.

But Giants safety Antrel Rolle wasn't as impressed with New Orleans' offensive showing as he was disappointed in New York's effort.

"They are a great offensive team," Rolle told WFAN's Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts on Tuesday. "But I think we definitely made them look a whole lot better than they actually are."

Now the Giants, one game behind first-place Dallas in the NFC East, face the possibility of dropping to 6-6 when the unbeaten Packers come to town this weekend.

"We have to figure out ... what's our purpose and what are we here for?" said Rolle. "Are we trying to be a playoff contending team, or are we just going out there and ... just going through the motions?"

So does he see the Giants making the playoffs?

"Absolutely," Rolle said. "Let me tell you something, we're gonna fight."

"When we want to play ball ... We play ball," he added. "We need to find a way to get back to that."
