Park Slope Hosts First-Ever Jewish Wedding Expo

The first ever "Big Fat Jewish Wedding Expo" was held in Park Slope Tuesday to help hundreds of stressed-out couples plan their wedding day celebrations.

On hand at Brooklyn's Grand Prospect Hall were prospective rabbis, wedding singers, bands, photographers, caterers, gown makers and even a resident psychologist offering tips on how to manage pre-wedding stress.

Also, observant Jewish women, who must cover their hair after marriage, were able to shop for high-end wigs priced up to $5,000.

The expo also featured a runway fashion show showing off modest bridal gowns in accordance with Jewish law and men's kapotes.

Avi Werde, 23, decided to launch the event to help couples cut down on preparation time and offer them a one-stop spot for all their wedding needs.

"Brides and grooms will be able to build their dream wedding from the ground up, all in one evening. the interactive experience will take away the guessing, so you will know exactly what you'll be getting" said Werde.
