WHITE PLAINS, NY (WCBS 880) - When the nor’easter struck in October, three seasons seemed to collide over Anthony Abbondola’s service bay at Argento and Sons in White Plains.
WCBS 880′s Paul Murnane On The Story
“Still cutting grass. So, we’re working on lawn mowers. The leaves are falling, so we’re working on leaf blowers,” he told WCBS 880 reporter Paul Murnane.
Out on the sales floor, they’re expecting some customers who waited and couldn’t get a snow blower last season to be in this year.
It’s easy to spend over $2,500 on a snow blower, but Consumer Reports home and yard editor Bob Markovich says that mid-priced models perform well.
“If you’ve got a big driveway, two or three car widths or something, you may want the widest, biggest 30-inch snow blower you can get,” he said. “But we found the smaller two-stage machines, the ones that are 24-inches-wide, can do really, really good work.”
Of course, if you are willing to pay for it, you can get extras like joystick control and hand warmers.
