Student Hospitalized Following Brooklyn School Stabbing

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An investigation is underway into a stabbing at Erasmus Hall High School in Flatbush, Brooklyn. A 16-year-old student allegedly stabbed another student, according to the Department Of Education.

The attack allegedly occurred in the gym following a lunch-hour argument over a basketball game on Tuesday. A student from the High School for Service and Learning was reportedly arguing with a 15-year-old student from the High School for Youth and Community Development and ended the dispute by stabbing him repeatedly in the head with a pair of scissors.

The accused assailant was arrested and charged with assault.

The victim was transported to Kings County Hospital where he underwent surgery. He is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
