'Make Music New York' Launches Free Concerts To Welcome Winter

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - You're likely all too familiar with the 12 Days of Christmas. Now, thanks to Make Music Winter, New York City will have 12 days of free concerts, as well.

To celebrate the coming of winter, Make Music New York will launch 12 musical parades to take place rain or shine Wednesday.

The events will proceed through neighborhoods in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.

Participating artists and organizations include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Cathedral of St John the Divine, Friends of the High Line and Parsons The New School for Design.

Three concerts and locations include:

- Chris Peck & Doug Perkins in Battery Park.

- Chris Marianetti in Madison Square Park.

- Patrick Grant at St. Mark's Church.
